Diggr, Just did the Marker Light Mod with your directions. Quick and easy, great thanks...
I replaced the std bulbs with LEDs and found that unless the lights were on the side markers would not flash. I thought I needed to jump the brown wire also but I tried a jumper and it did not work.
Somewhere in my mind I came up with putting the old bulb back in and wham-bam got it. With the parkers off the side marker flashes with the frt directional. With the parkers on the side marker flashers alternating from the frt directional.
Thanks if you read this.
Glad it worked out for you. My guess as to why the mod doesn't work as advertized with LED bulbs is that the LEDs draw so much less current than the conventional bulb the voodo gets messed up. rwenzing's post earlier in the thread explaining how this works indicates that it's all about current draw and therefor voltage drop across the "bulb". |

Posted - 04/26/2009 : 7:11:07 PM My 2003 Ford Edge just began to have problems with the turn signal lights blinking a few times (or not at all) when I am trying to make right/left turns. I can never predict when this will occur. Freaks me out so bad, I'm hating to drive my truck. I don't know much about wiring and such since my son usually does this type of thing for me....where do I begin to find out the problem? I'm female and technically challenged when it comes to matters such as this but I can make a mean cake!
Any help is appreciated Aukake |

Posted - 03/12/2009 : 3:52:56 PM Completely cut the black wire on the corner light
Extend the black wire that is still wired to each corner marker and route it to the park/turn socket in the closest headlight assembly.
So the black wire that is coming into the headlight area. tape it off or put on a connector. If you ever decide to undo this mod you can easily
If you use the wrong end of the black wire to tap into the turn signal wires, it will blow the turn signal fuse.
On the DS, tee in the extended black wire to the LG/WH wire of the turn signal.
On the PS, tee in the extended black wire to the WH/LB wire of the turn signal.

I had the same problem it was the fuse
Did you connect the jumper wire to the right wire? |

Posted - 03/12/2009 : 3:19:34 PM So I tried this out, cut through the casing on the white/green wiring and cut through the casing on the black wire, connected them and got nothing. so i disconnected it back to normal and now my turn signals don't work at all. any help? i thought fuse but none of my fuses look blown. i put a new fuse in a couple slots and got nothing from it |

"common sense" is entirely dependant on one's point of view. What is "common sense" for you may be "rocket science" for me. |

Then select the cut end of the black wire coming FROM the corner, NOT the one that goes back into the harness to ground.

Tap the extended black wire into the turn signal hot wire of the park/turn lamp on the same side of the truck as the corner.
Turn signal hot wire color codes: PS= white w/light blue stripe DS= light green w/ white stripe

Posted - 07/24/2008 : 7:15:04 PM then you did something wrong. test the socket at the blinker/running lamp with a test light to see if you spliced the correct wire.
Also check your connections. |
